Plastic Doodads
A couple months ago I was searching the internet for cable tack downs that used screws instead of nails. I found nothing and endedup buying the nail ones, wripping out the nails and using metal screws. In my attempt to make everybody's life easier I'd like to make a note of some other very cool plastic doodads that I have come across. Although I don't know if my need is present, I can't help but want to use these things for some sort of project. These plastic caps are pretty interesting. Even more intersting are the plastic tubes. Perhaps I will use them to store my nice $1 poker chips that I keep taking from the local casino. I'm not exactly sure what I will do with these things yet, I just know that I want them.

This blog normally deals with web services, search engine tools and other techno-topics on my mind. I just wanted to take a few moments to mention a site about what could be the most interesting firefighting emergency vehicle. If you are a interested in firefighting or perhaps even better, big giant trucks with tons of customizations, hours of labor and gallons of sweat, then you need to check out this site.

Besides, this site has good intentions of spreading firesafety knowledge. You have to admit that a kick-butt, extra-manyly truck is so much cooler than a silly old Smokey the Bear!

What the Hell is Google Page Rank?Put simply, Google's Page Rank is Google's measure of importance. What does this mean? Basically the more links that a web page has, the more important it is. Google assigns each page it finds a value from zero through ten.

A page having a Page Rank (PR) of 2 is manytimes better than a page with a Page Rank (PR) of 1. The scale is ever increasing from PR 1 to 10. Simply speaking to have a site of PR 1 you need at least 18 other pages with PR 1 linking to the target page. However you would need over 100 PR 1 pages linking to a target page to have a PR 2 and over 550 to get it to a PR 3. (There are other variables to the equation, but that is not in the scope of this writing.)

There is a shortcut however and that is to have pages with higher PR point to your page. If PR 2 and PR 3 pages are pointing to your target page then you will just need a few to get the target page to become a PR 2 page.

One major thing to remember is that getting a page to have a Page Rank takes a considerable amount time. At the fastest it takes a brand new page a couple of months. At the longest it will take 4 or 5 especially if it is a brand new site. With the billions of web pages out there, Google takes a while assigning values.

The last point is to point out that Page Rank is just for 1 page and not an entire site. Many out there will either mislead or mis-speak when they say they have a site the has a specific Page Rank. Each page has its own Page Rank and the only way one page can affect anothers is by linking to it.

BackLink Checker Bug Fixes
The backlink page rank checker has had nearly any issue with it resolved. There were a few bugs and it would see some phantom page rank:8 sites but this was quickly fixed.

Think Bling has released a BackLink Checker. This BackLink Checker searches through the first 25 to 150 backlinks (as reported by Google) . They are summarized by page rank so that you know how many page rank 0 links you have point to the page, how many page rank 1 and so on. The backlink program also approximates how many you would have if all the backlinks where checked (this is only an estimation however).
